Drawing a Graceful Egret

Birds
Today we are going to draw a beautiful bird that is often found standing by the water: the egret. With its long neck and thin legs, it looks very elegant. Grab your pencil and eraser, because we're going to get started right away. Follow the steps and before you know it, you'll have a real bird on paper!
1
Basic shapes of a bird with two ovals and a line for the beak.
Draw a small oval for the head and a larger oval for the body, with a slanted line for the beak.
2
The neck and tail line connecting the head and body of the bird.
Connect the head to the body with two curved lines for the neck and add a small line for the tail.
3
Guide lines for the long legs and the position of the wing.
Draw long lines under the body for the legs and place a line in the middle of the body for the wing.
4
The beak and wings getting more volume and shape.
Make the beak thicker and give more shape to the top of the legs and the wing.
5
Details of the eye and the long toes of the egret.
Draw a small round eye in the head and add long toes to the bottom of the legs.
6
The tail and legs are further developed with clean lines.
Draw the tail feathers with pointed lines and finish the legs by making them equally thick everywhere.
7
Details of the feathers on the wings and the body of the bird.
Add small strokes on the wings and back to mimic the soft feathers.
8
The finished drawing of an egret without guide lines.
Make the most important lines darker with your pencil and carefully erase all the guide circles.
