Drawing a cheerful parakeet in 8 simple steps

Birds
Hi little artist! Today we are going to draw a cozy parakeet. With simple circles and ovals, you'll conjure a cheerful bird onto your paper in no time. Grab your pencil and join the fun!
1
Two circles on top of each other as a base for the head and body of the parakeet.
Draw a small circle for the head and a larger oval underneath for the body.
2
The neck lines and a horizontal line where the bird will sit.
Connect the head and the body with two lines and draw a diagonal line for the perch.
3
The shape of the bird becomes clearer and gets a long tail line.
Finish the body and draw a long, straight line downwards for the tail.
4
Guide lines for the beak on the head and the feet near the perch.
Draw a small arc for the beak and place small marks where the feet should go.
5
A large oval shape on the side of the body for the wing.
Give the parakeet a wing by drawing a large teardrop shape on its back.
6
Details of the face with an eye and the feet clamped around the perch.
Draw a shiny round eye and attach the feet to the perch with small toes.
7
Lines in the wings and tail that look like feathers.
Now draw small lines in the wing and tail to show the real feathers.
8
The completed drawing of a parakeet with clean lines.
Make the outlines extra thick and erase the guide lines you no longer need.
