Drawing a happy octopus in 9 steps

Animals
Hi little artist! Today we are going to draw a special animal from the ocean: the octopus. Did you know that an octopus has eight arms? Grab your pencil and eraser, and let's get started step by step.
1
An oval shape with a vertical line in the middle for the octopus's head.
Draw a large egg shape for the octopus's head and place a guide line in the middle.
2
Small circles under the large head indicating the starting points of the tentacles.
Draw small circles under the head to determine where the eight arms will begin.
3
Long squiggly lines fanning out from the head.
Draw long, wavy lines outward from the circles for the shape of the tentacles.
4
Thick tentacles and two round circles for the eyes on the head.
Make the arms thicker by drawing a second line around the wavy lines and sketch the eyes.
5
Eyes with black dots and lines along the bottom of the tentacles.
Give the eyes more detail with pupils and draw guide lines on the arms for the suction cups.
6
Small circles as suction cups on the back arms of the octopus.
Draw small circles along the back tentacles to create the first suction cups.
7
All eight arms of the octopus are now covered with small round suction cups.
Now you can draw small suction cups on all the other arms for a real water effect.
8
The octopus with thick lines and small round bubbles floating upwards.
Make the outlines of the octopus a bit darker and add cheerful air bubbles in the water.
9
A completed drawing of an octopus without guide lines.
Erase the guide lines and color your octopus with your favorite colors!
