Drawing a Manatee: Step-by-Step Drawing for Kids

Animals
Hi little artist! Today we are going to draw a manatee, a super soft and slow animal that lives in the water. They look a bit like big, floating potatoes with fins! Using simple shapes like ovals, we will create a beautiful work of art together.
1
Manatee drawing lesson step 1: Basic shapes of a large oval and a small circle.
Draw a large horizontal oval for the body and a smaller circle for the head.
2
Manatee drawing lesson step 2: Connecting the outline of the back and the belly.
Connect the head and the body with smooth lines so it becomes one whole.
3
Manatee drawing lesson step 3: Guide lines for the tail and the front fins.
Draw a wide shape at the back for the flat tail and guide lines for the fins.
4
Manatee drawing lesson step 4: Drawing the shape of the snout and mouth.
Create the manatee's snout by drawing a small arch at the front of the head.
5
Manatee drawing lesson step 5: Further developing the fins and the round tail.
Now draw the actual shapes of the side fins and the large, round tail.
6
Manatee drawing lesson step 6: Drawing the face with a small eye and nostril.
Place a small dot for the eye and draw a nostril on the snout.
7
Manatee drawing lesson step 7: Adding details like wrinkles and skin folds.
Add wrinkles and lines on the body, because manatees have a bit of bumpy skin.
8
Manatee drawing lesson step 8: The completed manatee with bubbles in the water.
Erase the guide lines and draw some air bubbles around your manatee in the water!
