Drawing a cool lion in 9 steps

Hi little artist! Today we are going to draw a real lion. Grab your pencil and eraser, because we are going to work step by step. It's not difficult at all if we start with simple shapes!

Basic shapes of a lion: a small circle and a large oval.
Draw a small circle for the head and a larger oval for the lion's body.

Lines connecting the head and the body with a curved tail line.
Connect the head and the body with two lines for the neck and draw a long arc for the tail.

Guide lines for the eyes on the head and straight lines for the legs.
Place small guide lines on the head for the eyes and draw straight lines where the legs should go.

Adding thick legs and round ears to the lion.
Now draw the shapes of the legs around the lines and give the lion round ears.

Drawing the snout and the bottom of the legs.
Create the snout at the bottom of the face and finish drawing the bottom of the legs.

Details of the lion's nose, mouth, and toes.
Draw a small nose, the mouth, and don't forget to add the toes to the paws.

Eyes and the start of the wild mane around the head.
Draw the eyes and start with the large, hairy mane around the lion's head.

Detailed mane and a tufted tail for the lion.
Finish the mane with extra strokes and draw a nice tuft at the end of the tail.

Erase all the guide lines and trace the outer lines of your lion extra thick.
