Drawing a cool iguana

Hi young artist! Today we are going to draw a super cool iguana that looks like it came straight out of the jungle. We will start very easily with simple shapes like circles and lines. Are you joining in?

Basic shapes of an iguana: a small circle and a large oval.
Draw a small circle for the head and a large horizontal oval for the body.

The neck and the long tail line of the iguana are drawn.
Connect the head and the body with two lines and draw a long, graceful curl for the tail.

Guide lines for the legs and the face of the iguana.
Place small guide lines where the legs, eyes, and mouth should go.

Thicker shapes for the legs and the snout of the iguana.
Make the snout a bit longer and draw the thick shapes of the front and back legs.

The eye and the thick tail of the iguana take shape.
Draw a small round eye in the head and make the tail a lot thicker.

Details of the toes and a guide line for the back spikes.
Draw long toes on the legs and put a dotted line across the back for the spikes.

Sharp claws and triangular spikes on the back of the iguana.
Now draw the sharp claws and make small triangles on the back for the spikes.

The finished iguana on the ground with clean lines.
Draw the ground under the iguana, erase the guide lines, and trace the outer lines extra thick.
