Hi young artist! Today we are going to draw an emu, which is a very large bird from Australia that can run very fast. Grab your pencil and eraser, because we are going to get started right away. Using simple shapes, we will create a beautiful animal together!
1
Draw a small circle for the head and a large horizontal oval below it for the body.
2
Connect the head and the body with two long, curved lines for the neck and draw a small line for the beak.
3
Draw a short line at the back of the body for the tail and make the beak a bit thicker.
4
Place two long, straight lines under the body for the legs and draw a line for the mouth.
5
Make the legs thicker by drawing lines next to them and give the beak its final shape.
6
Draw the toes at the bottom of the legs and add an eye and a small wing.
7
Draw small, short strokes everywhere to give the emu soft and shaggy feathers.
8
Make the outer lines darker, erase the guide circles, and draw a line for the ground.
