Drawing a cuckoo for children

Birds
Hi young artist! Today we are going to draw a real cuckoo, the bird that calls its own name. Grab your pencil and paper, because we are going to work step by step. It's easier than you think!
1
Basic shapes of a cuckoo: a circle for the head and an oval for the body on a branch.
Draw a small circle for the head and a larger oval below it for the body. Draw a diagonal line for the branch the bird is sitting on.
2
Guide lines for the neck and the long tail of the cuckoo.
Connect the head and the body with two lines for the neck and draw a long straight line for the tail.
3
Drawing of a beak and the first lines of the wing.
Draw a small triangle for the open beak and start the wing on the back.
4
Shape of the wing and guide lines for the bird's legs.
Give the cuckoo a round shape for its wing and place short dashes where the legs should go.
5
Detail of the bird's head with an eye and a sharp beak.
Finish the beak and draw a small round eye in the head.
6
Details of the feathers on the wing and the wide tail of the bird.
Draw the feathers at the end of the wing and make the tail a bit wider.
7
Legs of the cuckoo gripping a tree branch.
Draw the legs with small claws that hold the branch firmly.
8
The finished drawing of a cuckoo on a branch without guide lines.
Erase the guide lines and trace the outer lines extra thick for a beautiful result.
