Drawing a Cheerful Caterpillar

Animals
Hi little artist! Today we are going to draw a super fun caterpillar crawling across a twig. A caterpillar looks a bit like a row of cheerful little balls next to each other. Grab your paper and pencil, and let's get started together!
1
Drawing of a small oval with a cross inside for the caterpillar's head.
Start with a small oval for the head and put a guide line in the middle.
2
A long curved shape attached to the head of the caterpillar.
Draw a large, curved shape behind the head for the rest of the body.
3
Guide lines for the legs under the long body of the caterpillar.
Place small dashes under the body where the legs will go later.
4
The caterpillar gets round shapes across its body and a branch appears beneath it.
Now divide the long body into several round segments and draw a diagonal line for the branch.
5
Clear round shapes for the segments and small legs at the bottom.
Make the circles of the body clearer now and draw the first legs.
6
The head takes more shape and the legs are now clearly visible.
Draw the details on the head and finish the legs with small arches.
7
Lines between the segments of the caterpillar for extra detail.
Add extra lines between the segments so the caterpillar really gets a ribbed body.
8
Caterpillar with small details and decorations on its back segments.
Now draw small dots or patterns on the caterpillar's back for a cheerful effect.
9
The finished drawing of a caterpillar on a twig without guide lines.
Erase the guide lines and make the outer lines of your caterpillar extra thick and neat.
