Drawing an armadillo in 9 easy steps

Animals
Hi little artist! Today we are going to draw a very special animal: the armadillo. This animal actually always wears a kind of armor made of scales. Grab your pencil and eraser, and let's get started together!
1
Basic shapes of an armadillo with a large oval and a small circle.
Start with a large horizontal oval for the body and a small circle for the head.
2
A rounded line on top of the oval indicating the shape of the shell.
Draw a curved line over the back to create the top of the shell.
3
The body of the armadillo with a long tail at the back.
Finish the shape of the body and draw a long, pointed triangle for the tail.
4
Guide lines for the four legs under the body of the armadillo.
Place four short lines under the body where the legs will be.
5
Thick legs and a pointed snout drawn around the guide lines.
Now draw thick shapes around the lines for the sturdy legs and the snout.
6
Details of the head with ears, a mouth, and small feet.
Add two small triangles on the head for the ears and a line for the mouth.
7
Face of the armadillo with eye, nose, and claws on the toes.
Draw a small eye, a nose, and add sharp claws to the legs.
8
Vertical lines on the back of the armadillo forming the armor.
Now draw the stripes on the middle of the body to create the plates of the shell.
9
The completed drawing of an armadillo without guide lines.
Erase the guide lines and color your armadillo beautifully with brown or gray tones.
